Ah, yes, the days of using sewing thread for wiring. I built and photographed this circa 1970. It's a combination drag and show car. In the real world, it probably wouldn't be competitve as either. The car is based on the AMT 1955 Chevrolet Nomad with opening doors from the Revell 1957 Nomad but reverse hinged. The MPC Mako Shark provided the engine/front frame/front suspension. I still have this model but decided to show the retro-era pix of it here. The paint is a dark red metallic with champagne panels (1964 Buick Tawny Mist). Black and white spider-webbing was applied over some areas. There's also plenty of Chartpak striping tape, too. The paint surface is pretty rough as I didn't bury it in clear.
