Taylor Anderson has written a series of science-fiction books in a series called, "The Destroyermen" . It features an old WW1 Wickes class destroyer named the Walker and its crew. The old Airfix kit of the British Navy Lend-Lease destroyer, which I built as a kid in the '60s, is fitted out as a standard U.S. Navy tincan. Asiatic Fleet destroyers were painted Cavite Blue with Light Gray decks.  I used an old tin of Humbrol PRU Blue and Pollyscale Neutral Gray with Testors Dark Red for the hull. I had to fashion the props from scratch, using slivers of rod and tube. I brushed Vallejo Flat Satin acrylic on the whole model to even everything out. I didn't like the saw-horse kit stands, so I made one from sheet plastic and sprue. Adios, Larry

Nice 4 stacker

Larry:

Yet another kit I've never seen built up.

Didn't know about "Cavite Blue", either.

Has a certain charm, if you can say that about a warship.
